 Today I completed my reading and writing tasks about endangered animals. It was a fun topic to learn about. I enjoyed learning new facts about endangered animals, especially the Snow leopard.

Kira-Week 10 Whanau Challenge

 

This week my sibilings and I took part in the week 10 whanau challenge.

The challenge was to dress up as a character from a book.

We didn't have much resources to work with so we tried our best to create something simple. I chose to dress up as Roald Dahl's Matilda story book character "Matilda". My brother Tamatoa dressed up as Greg Heffley from the book "Diary of a wimpy kid". We wanted him to dress as Captain underpants but he said No way. Bella went with Wednesday Addams from the book and movie "Addams family". I enjoyed this challenge because I got to wear my blue tutu dress and trim my fringe.

Maui and the Sun Questions

1. Why did Maui’s brothers complain about the sun?

Maui and his brothers complained about the sun because the days were short and the nights were long and there was no time to go hunting, fishing or planting.

2.  What is an ancestor?

An ancestor is your family who have come and gone before you.

3. What does whanau mean in English?

Whanau in English means family.

4. Where did Maui and his brothers travel to?

Maui and his brothers travelled to Te-Rua-o-te-Ra, The sun’s cave.

5. Why were the brothers scared?

Maui’s brothers were scared because they thought the sun would burn them up.

6. What chores could you only do in daylight?

They couldn’t do much because the days were too short.

Whanau Baking Challenge Week 7.

 This week me and my family did the Baking Challenge. We baked a chocolate cake and a chocolate brownie. I enjoyed decorating our cake and using the electrical mixer rather than a whisk. Next time I would like to try and bake strawberry flavoured cup cakes with pink butter cream frosting and rainbow sprinkles. Looking forward to everyones baking videos and or photos. Happy Tongan Language Week.
